The American dream to me is a dream in America

I had a really busy day, I organized a team lunch and practice and it was hard because getting teenage guys to do stuff is like herding cats dear gods it's so hard all they wanna do is nothing ugh I try to be a good captain but its so hard


to me, the American dream has lost its meaning and its value because us " damned millennials ruin everything like always. The American dream used to be that would start up a company in your mum's garage and then it would turn into a multi-billion dollar corporation. The American dream used to be getting on the boat from potato famine Ireland and coming through Ellis island and doing something super cool and making money and starting a new life for your family.


  To me NOW the American dream is, however, you can get the most attention whether being you get pregnant and age 16 or go on doctor Phil and say something really dumb. Everyone wants attention, and nowadays people will do whatever they can for 15 minutes of fame. If you get these attention companies are gonna be like dude omg people like this person lets get them to sell our product or say something really dumb with our product so it gets attention.
          The American dream to me is how materialistic you can be up front, no one cares what house you go back to really they care about what you stunting. You have to be rocking the freshest clothes and having the worst girl to be wealthy. If you have that, those things, they are what people value that will turn heads and get the attention you want, no one is gonna be like oooooh that dude is broke when you're rocking a Gucci belt. No one is gonna follow you home to see your outfit broke, no wealth is what you're rocking that day. Yo let me tell you something, people hate poor people, if you not rocking things that look nice then people instantly are like " Yoo look at that &*%$ bump" ( I've seen people do it ). Rich= sexy, I hate seeing these hot freaking girls get with these ugly freaking guys just cuz they're rich. I watched it happen, no one could love this dude, not even a mother could love that face this dude was so ugly and had douchy personality but he still pulled one the worst girls at MHS and he cheated on her religiously but she was fine, cuz she got hella stuff.  Its crazy how we value wealth and poverty.




Me my self, I don't trust the poor, to be honest. There is always something up with them, I will help a homeless shelter never will I give money to a panhandler on the side of the street. I got trust issues after what had happened to my dad and me one time with these homeless people... I don't wanna talk about it cuz it still hurts me but I don't trust them

This was interesting for me because I had to do my history sock puppet show on the rise of Pol Pot the leader of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia so it was crazy to hear other stories and things along that line.



Summary Guy.

So my Ted talk doesn't really have a purpose that is super IB. I mean it is a very interesting story. So this young man who is giving the speech is living in Cambodia with his mom and dad and little sisters and brother. So the Khmer rouge a communist regime takes over the city their living in and forces them out into the countryside because Pol Pot the leader wants to make a perfect communist utopia of agriculture. So out in the rice fields, his parents are forced to work and get very little rations of porridge and few a grains of rice every day. Sophals's father died due to malnutrition and left the family in a bad spot. So the mother took a gamble and declared that she was Vietnamese's, doing this would allow them to extradited out of Cambodia and into Vietnam because the Khmer rouge wanted only Cambodians in Cambodia. The mother spoke very little Vietnamese but she was tutored intensely for 2 days by some clutch Vietnamese lady somewhere. Just some facts for you... if Sophals mom fails the test her whole family is executed right there. I know crazy right. So after 2 days of intensive training, she goes and takes the test and... she passes and they get to leave the Regime of the Kumher rouge who at the time had already killed 1 1/2 million people in Cambodia.

As you can see this doesn't really have a purpose, it shows the extent that a mother will go to make a better life for her children. He's really hoping to show off his mom, like wow my mom won't even remember to get me peach sweet tea when she goes to the groceries store but this lady had 2 DAYS of class on a subject then went and aced the damn final like its no big deal I do this kinda stuff every day.  At the end, he said the filed a letter of grievance to the UN who are holding a tribunal to prosecute the Khmer Rouge leaders who are still alive. He uses family pictures to really show the audience how young his family all of his siblings had to be under 5 years old. He used grotesque pictures to show how horrible life is under the regime these are more helpful than just describing what life was.


LOGOS: During his talk, he threw out some crazy numbers such as 1 1/2 million people died because they were murdered by their government. He also then mentions that there are only 7 million people in the country. The Audience can derive from this is that Pol Pot killed 25% of the country's population. That would be about 83 Million people in the United States would be dead. The use of these numbers adds a reality check to his story that he could've ended up as a statistics if his mother didn't have balls of steel.

Mr.Dr and Jekyll Hyde // I just got my Wisdom teeth out so I'm a little loopy

 So I got my wisdom teeth out like a few hours ago but I need to do this blog post and my mouth hurts if anyone was wondering. I'll be back in a second...

Ok, I just took one of my pain pills because my face hurts so bad.I imagine the first half of my blog will be Dr.Jekyll and the second half be all Mr.HYDE !!!!!!



Ok now for this killer analysis of how each character is introduced...

So this story to me reads like on of those old detective movies that are narrated by the detective and are in black and white. Okay, this world is spinning and I'm a little loopy...

Mr.HYDE

I choose the passage "From chapter 1, where the text starts: He is not easy to describe..., ending with ...and yet I really can name nothing out of the way."

Dr. Jekyll 

I will choose the passage- "From chapter 3, where the text starts: To this rule..., ending with This is a matter I thought we had agreed to drop."

COMPARE AND CONTRAST

In the Hyde, passage Utterson opens up and the author makes an interesting choice in language when he's describing Hyde for the first time. He does this by not really using any physical descriptors. " He gives a strong feeling of deformity" but actually doesn't describe anything of the physical nature. This is starkly differant from the way that Jekyll is introduced. There are alot of physical descriotr and everything is in a more postive light. Ive read ahead and this whole book is an allegory for good vs bad. How we start doing the things we want its harder to return to the norms that are set in by soceity.. wow so deep. The speech used to descibed is simialr in a sense, Stevenson used alot of puncutaution to show that Utterson is making this description fast, its incomplete sentances that run on for a little.

1.  People who are not evil usually go down a path of evil because the reward will outweigh the risk. In our society, people steal things or sell drugs or do drugs because what they get from it is more rewarding than the risk of getting caught. When going down this road to evil the guilt builds up in a person mind . Take for example when Macbeth was told by the murder that Banquo was killed the guilt instantly went to work. The evidence is in the text when Macbeth "sees" the ghost of Banquo sit in his chair.  

   	"This is the very painting of your fear:
   	This is the air-drawn dagger which, you said,
   	Led you to Duncan. O, these flaws and starts,
   	Impostors to true fear would well become
   	A woman's story at a winter's fire,
   	Authorized by her grandam. Shame itself!
   	Why do you make such faces? When all's done,
   	You look but on a stool."

   This manifestation of Macbeth's guilt comes out as he is trying to place blame on other people for the death of Banquo, not himself. His guilt is so much that he has an outburst and starts yelling at something that no one else can see.

QUESTION 2

Shakespeare would agree to a major extent with that statement that I'm too lazy to restate. Seeing that during the time period that Shaky lived King James was using his power to start his own religion and corrupting him and allowing to benefit his own goals. But it's very evident in his play "Macbeth" when Macbeth is crowned king he fears only one thing, the prophecy from the weird sisters. He fears Banquo and his son Fleance because of what the prophecy foretold. He takes his absolute power and uses to kill his best friend. He has corrupted absolutely to the point where killing his best friend seemed reasonable to do and beneficial to him. 

QUESTION 3

In my own life, I feel that everything is done is by chance or choice. I do everything to myself and it usually never works out the way I want it to but ya know you just gotta take it as it comes because you won't stay long. Never once have I believed some supernatural force is dictating my life, it would be great if they were because then I could blame them for all the terrible things that happen to me on a daily basis. But my life is based on my choices. In Macbeth, I think he's going for the same idea that everything that is happening to Macbeth is because of his choices and sometimes things happen coincidentally that make it appear to be supernatural, the dichotomy of appearance vs reality. Take for example when the witches said he would be the Thane of Cawdor and Macbeth was like what no way I can't that dude is alive but it turned out we were a traitor. Macbeth did not think or know that he was a traitor and thought what the weird sisters had said was true beans.

Ok, this question seems really of topics but imma give it my best shot. So in modern times men aren't as hilarious and nice I guess because nice guys finish last is what the toolbags say these days. Manhood today is something that people also consider bad, being a man is bad being a man makes you sexist and you objectify women and you're a horrible person no matter what. But in Macbeth manhood is regarded as honest and proud of what you have done.  ITS DINNER TIME,
